Business Continuity Awareness Week (BCAW) 2010

Next Business Continuity Awareness Week will take place on March 22nd- 26th, 2010, Theme: “Why continuity planning?”

Business Continuity Awareness Week, North Americas (June 21 – 27, 2009), is dedicated to promoting the “rationale for” and “value proposition” of incorporating business continuity training and planning into your company’s normal operations.

This year the theme is “Testing Recovery Capabilities.” Companies may use various testing methodologies that contribute to how their plans are revised. The main types of testing include operational testing, walkthrough testing, fire drill testing and call tree testing. A plan is useless if it is not tested. As one business continuity planning author once said, if you haven’t tested your plan, how do you know it works? You are encouraged to check out the rest of this site for information, materials and links on the topic of testing that will surely help you to improve your practices in this important area.
